24-hour pricing pilots change check-in math

Is anyone else seeing urban hotels quietly roll out true 24-hour clocks instead of the standard 3 p.m.–11 a.m. window? I tested a Midtown pilot yesterday — booked a 9-hour block via the app, built a jet-lag micro-itinerary around a 6 a.m. landing — and my client left raving about the seamless rest-meetings-rest flow; curious how teams are balancing housekeeping cadence and RevPAR with these flexible stays.

We moved to two 4-hour ‘micro-shifts’ for housekeeping and only release 24-hour starts that align to those blocks; it kept turns predictable and lifted RevPAR about 3% because we could safely sell tighter gaps. Caveat: early 5–7 a.m. starts hammer laundry unless you cap them — are you throttling those?

At our CBD property, we only surface ‘6 a.m.’ or ‘9-hour block’ starts on rooms flagged AM-eligible in the PMS — those are near the service core and pre-stocked with quick-turn linen kits — so housekeeping can sweep them first without wrecking the cadence. It lifted short-stay conversion, but we had to cap late arrivals that could collide with 6 a.m. starts and hold two buffer rooms per floor. Do you let the app suppress early starts on high-occupancy nights, or trust demand to self-balance?
